Can You Play Split Fiction Solo? Answered

By ZoeMar 14,2025

Hazelight Studios, known for their fantastic couch co-op games, has released their latest title, Split Fiction. A key question on many gamers' minds: can you play Split Fiction solo? The answer, unfortunately, is no.

Can You Play Split Fiction By Yourself?

Like previous Hazelight games, Split Fiction is built entirely around cooperative gameplay, both online and local couch co-op. There's no single-player mode, no AI companion, and the intricate, precisely timed gameplay makes solo play virtually impossible, even with multiple controllers.

However, there's a great solution for those seeking a partner: the Friend's Pass.

If you own Split Fiction but need a partner, the Friend's Pass allows a friend to join your game, regardless of platform (PlayStation, Xbox, or PC). Here's how it works:

  1. Own Split Fiction on any platform.
  2. Have your friend download the Friend's Pass on their platform.
  3. Send your friend an invite to your session.
  4. Enjoy the game together!

The Friend's Pass supports cross-platform play via PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Steam, Epic Games Store, and the EA app. You can even invite friends from your EA Friends list. This makes it easy for friends to try the game before buying it.

That's all you need to know about solo play in Split Fiction. Split Fiction releases March 6th on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
