Since the announcement of the upcoming DLC for *Lies of P*, titled *Overture*, fans have been buzzing with speculation about the mysteries it might unveil. At the Game Developers Conference last week, IGN uncovered a crucial detail: the base game's surprising final cutscene will not be explained in the DLC. For those yet to experience the end of *Lies of P*, the cutscene hints at future directions for the universe, sparking widespread curiosity and theories among the community. However, director Jiwon Choi clarified that this cutscene is unrelated to the DLC, simply stating, "Please stay tuned for additional announcements in the future."

Neowiz has also announced a full sequel to *Lies of P*, leading to speculation that the mysterious cutscene might be connected to *Lies of P 2*. However, details about the sequel remain scarce, and Choi remained tight-lipped during our discussion. He emphasized Neowiz's commitment to quality, promising that when they share news or media assets, it will be a clear indication of their readiness: "What I can certainly tell you is when we share such news or media and assets with you, you'll know for sure that we are ready to present it to you. And that follows very our strict focus on quality [amid] all the pressure that we talked about in the past. So that is the one promise that I can share with you, that when we actually share those contents with you and the news, we will be ready to share that with you."

The cutscene in question, referred to as the Dorothy scene, features Paracelcus on the phone, mentioning that he will "find her, for sure. Another key of ours: Dorothy." The scene then reveals the iconic striped sock legs and ruby slippers of Dorothy from *The Wizard of Oz*, hinting at a future connection to other public domain "fairy tales". While this twist won't be explored in *Overture*, its significance remains a topic of intense speculation.SPOILERS END HERE.
Despite the mystery surrounding the final cutscene, Choi provided some insights into what fans can expect from *Overture*. He encouraged players to replay the base game, as it contains numerous hints about the upcoming content: "When you play through the base game again, you'll see many hints that we scattered throughout the whole experience," Choi explained. "A lot of hints and a lot of windows into the world, and you'll be able to actually see that and experience that in the expansion…There are many things that I actually wanted to accomplish when we were working on the base game. It didn't get put into the base game, and all of that, at least key elements of that are going to be included in the expansion."Concept art for Lies of P: Overture
Choi also noted that some fans have already begun to piece together Neowiz's plans, as he frequently reads fan theories online and finds that "some of them are quite close." Additionally, he shared that *Overture* should take approximately 15-20 hours to complete for experienced players and will be accessible after reaching a "certain" chapter of the game, extending all the way to the end. The DLC is set as a "prequel", with the protagonist transported back in time to Krat just before its fall. It will introduce new locations, enemies, bosses, characters, and weapons, though Choi kept the specifics under wraps for the release.
