Master the Dual Outfit Technique in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered!
This guide details how to combine the benefits of two outfits in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, enhancing your gameplay experience. This feature is exclusive to the Remastered version; it's unavailable in the original game.
Remastered Version Required:
The dual outfit method relies on the Remastered edition's transmog feature, allowing you to maintain the stats of one outfit while visually wearing another.
Outfit Requirements:
This technique has limitations. While one outfit is your choice, the second must be one of these three Banuk Werak outfits, found in the Frozen Wilds DLC:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (New Game Plus only)
Access to the Frozen Wilds DLC is not contingent on completing the main game.
Acquiring the Banuk Werak Outfits:
Banuk Werak Runner:
Locate a Bluegleam Merchant (marked with a blue merchant icon) in the Frozen Wilds after defeating the initial machine in the expansion area. Purchase the outfit using the following resources:
Resource | Normal Cost | Ultra Hard Cost |
---|---|---|
Metal Shards | 1000 | 5000 |
Desert Glass | 10 | 20 |
Slagshine Glass | 10 | 20 |
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept:
Complete the "For the Werak" quest (the third main quest in Frozen Wilds). Consider lowering the difficulty if needed. The Adept version is only obtainable in New Game Plus (NG+).
Combining Outfit Effects:
- Equip your desired outfit – the one providing the stats you want (enhance stats with Weaves if necessary).
- Use the transmog feature to change the appearance to one of the three Banuk Werak outfits.
This allows you to retain your chosen outfit's stats while gaining the auto-healing effect of the Banuk Werak outfit. The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept offer significantly faster healing than the Runner. Combining this with an outfit like the Shield Weaver makes you incredibly resilient.
