Hideki Kamiya, renowned director behind gaming hits like Devil May Cry and the original Okami, embarks on a new chapter. After a two-decade tenure at PlatinumGames, he's launched Clovers Inc., a new studio dedicated to fulfilling his long-held ambition: an Okami sequel.

A Sequel Eighteen Years in the Making

Kamiya's passion for completing the Okami narrative is well-documented. He publicly expressed his desire for a sequel to Capcom, but his requests went unanswered. Now, with Clovers Inc. and Capcom as publisher, his dream is finally becoming reality.

Clovers Inc.: A New Beginning

The name "Clovers Inc." pays homage to Clover Studio, the developer of the original Okami and Viewtiful Joe, and reflects Kamiya's pride in his early Capcom teams. A joint venture with former PlatinumGames colleague Kento Koyama, the studio currently employs 25 people, prioritizing a shared creative vision over sheer size.

Kamiya emphasizes the importance of a unified creative philosophy, attracting passionate developers who share his commitment to excellence. Many team members are former PlatinumGames employees, drawn to the new studio by Kamiya and Koyama's vision.

Departure from PlatinumGames

Kamiya's departure from PlatinumGames, where he served as creative leader and vice president, surprised many.
