Oblivion Remastered Mods Released Online

By MatthewMay 26,2025

Bethesda has officially announced that *The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered* does not include support for official mods. However, this hasn't deterred the passionate fanbase, as dedicated players have already released a variety of unofficial mods.

Within hours of Bethesda and Virtuos shadow-dropping their reimagining of Oblivion for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, a selection of community-created mods surfaced on the popular platform Nexus Mods. While these initial mods primarily focus on minor customization options, they underscore the relentless dedication of The Elder Scrolls modding community.

At the time of this article's publication, an impressive total of 22 mods were listed on the site. The first mod to be released enables PC users to customize their desktop by swapping the default Oblivion Remastered shortcut icon with one featuring the game's notorious Adoring Fan. Several mods allow players to bypass the introductory Bethesda and Virtuos logo screens. Others, such as a modification to the Wizard’s Fury spell and another that removes the compass, are already delving into gameplay customization.

These early mods have emerged despite Bethesda's announcement that *Oblivion Remastered* lacks official mod support, a detail which was clarified in the FAQ section on their website. Typically, Bethesda encourages modding in their games, making this an unusual departure.

Nexus Mods user GodschildGaming shared their Iron Longsword damage mod to demonstrate that modding is still feasible with Oblivion Remastered. In the mod's description, they stated, "This is just to prove modding is possible. Bethesda says no mod support, I say false. It really is Unreal slapped on top of Oblivion, the data folder is nested in a lot more folders but same concept."
