Attention all Death Stranding enthusiasts! The much-anticipated sequel, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, is slated to hit the shelves in June, and the franchise's beloved star, Norman Reedus, has been dropping some tantalizing hints about the game. In a recent interview with IGN, while promoting From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, Reedus shared some insights into the upcoming game and even touched on the future film adaptation, which was announced last month to be developed by Michael Sarnoski and A24.
When asked about the possibility of playing himself in the film version, Reedus was enthusiastic, stating, “If it was an option, yeah, for sure. I don’t know what’s happening with it. It’s so pre pre pre right now. But yeah, of course.” This suggests his keen interest in further expanding the Death Stranding universe into the cinematic realm.

Reedus also opened up about his experience with the original Death Stranding and his feelings about diving into the sequel. Despite initially feeling bewildered by the first game, Reedus expressed a strong trust in the visionary creator, Hideo Kojima. "As far as working with him and understanding where his head’s at, I don’t think anybody can understand where his head’s at," Reedus humorously noted. He went on to say, "He’s just that guy, he’s out there and he’s got great ideas. But story-wise, I did know what was happening more. There’s more action in it, there’s more of a definite goal to get to."
Regardless of the complexities within the Death Stranding universe, Reedus remains excited and fully committed to the project. "It’s always a trip working on those things," he shared with IGN. "It’s great, but it’s wild."
Mark your calendars, as Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is set to launch on June 26, 2025. Get ready for another thrilling journey into the enigmatic world crafted by Hideo Kojima and brought to life by Norman Reedus.
