Nintendo has revealed a special Direct presentation showcasing upcoming Switch 2 exclusive Donkey Kong Bananza. The digital event airs this Wednesday, June 18 at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST.
15-Minute Deep Dive Exclusively on Bananza
The announcement first appeared in Nintendo's Today! app, confirming the briefing will run for 15 minutes focused solely on the primate platformer.
With the Switch 2 launch behind them, Nintendo shifts focus to upcoming exclusives – next being July 17's Donkey Kong Bananza. This Direct promises exclusive footage of the 3D adventure, with no other Switch 2 titles featured.
DK's Cinematic Makeover Comes to Gaming
Donkey Kong sports his refreshed design from The Super Mario Bros. Movie in Bananza. Legendary developer Shigeru Miyamoto recently explained the redesign philosophy to IGN.
"I remain actively involved in character development," Miyamoto stated. "When revisiting DK's design, we drew inspiration from Rare's original Donkey Kong Country while incorporating what we learned from Jungle Beat's expressive capabilities."
The redesign debuted in the film and now transitions to gaming with Bananza. Check IGN's hands-on preview for exclusive gameplay impressions.
Expanding Switch 2's Exclusive Lineup
Bananza joins Mario Kart World and Welcome Tour in bolstering Switch 2's exclusive catalog. Other confirmed exclusives include Survival Kids, Kirby Air Riders, and the newly announced Splatoon Raiders.
