"Netflix Stories Cancelled, Still Playable!"

Netflix has officially announced the closure of its interactive fiction games under the Netflix Stories banner, marking the end of a brief yet intriguing venture into narrative gaming. Despite boasting a solid player base, the decision to cancel Netflix Stories has come as a surprise to many. Let's dive into the details to understand why Netflix made this move.

According to Variety, the decision to end Netflix Stories is part of a larger strategic shift at Netflix Games. Moving forward, Netflix Games aims to concentrate on mobile titles that include party games, games for kids, mainstream releases, and other interactive experiences that can be enjoyed on TVs.

Boss Fight Entertainment, the creative force behind the Netflix Stories series, will continue to collaborate with Netflix on other projects, such as the highly anticipated Squid Game: Unleashed.

Is Netflix Stories Shutting Down?

Despite facing some criticism, Netflix Stories has maintained a strong position, ranking fourth in the Netflix Games top 10 carousel, which tracks playtime rather than downloads.

Looking ahead, the final interactive title under the Netflix Stories banner will be Love Is Blind: NYC. Once it's fully released, no new games will be developed under this label. This announcement follows closely on the heels of the Netflix Stories app teasing its next game, The Love Contract, which was slated for release on April 8th.

The Love Contract was unique as it wasn't based on any existing Netflix IP. It promised an original romance story about an actress navigating a complex love triangle with a Hollywood star and a billionaire, set against a backdrop of fame, scandal, and fake dating. Unfortunately, this project has now been abandoned.

While no new titles will be added, fans can still enjoy the existing Netflix Stories games. Titles like Love Is Blind, Emily in Paris, Money Heist, Love Is Blind: Winter’s Kiss, Perfect Match, Sex Education, Selling Sunset, Sweet Magnolias, Virgin River, and The Perfect Couple will remain accessible. However, anticipated sequels such as Outer Banks and Ginny & Georgia have been cancelled.

That's the full story on why Netflix Stories is being discontinued. If you're a fan of Netflix shows and want to experience these interactive narratives, you can still find them on the Google Play Store.
