Netflix is releasing a retro-futuristic puzzle game, The Electric State: Kid Cosmo, to coincide with the upcoming sci-fi adventure film, The Electric State. Launching March 18th, just days after the film's March 14th premiere, the game serves as a prequel, exploring the childhood of key characters Chris and Michelle.
Directed by the Russo brothers and starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt, The Electric State depicts a post-apocalyptic road trip across an alternate 1990s America. The film features numerous giant robots.
The Electric State: Kid Cosmo, developed by BUCK Games (creators of the popular Steam game Let’s! Revolution!) in collaboration with AGBO, offers a unique game-within-a-game experience. The gameplay is reminiscent of the WarioWare series, boasting an 80s aesthetic. Set in Wichita, Kansas, in 1985, the story unfolds over five years, revealing the characters' journey before the movie's events. Players will collect modules, repair Kid Cosmo's ship, and solve puzzles to uncover the world's secrets.
This release continues Netflix's trend of interactive spin-offs, adding to a growing gaming catalog that includes titles like Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales, Too Hot to Handle, Money Heist: Ultimate Choice, and Squid Game: Unleashed.
