Neon Spellstorm Is a Wizard Roguelite Bullet Heaven, Now in Pre-Registration

Neon Spellstorm is an upcoming action game from TopCog, with pre-registration now live. A roguelite bullet heaven, it shares the same mystical theme as TopCog’s other major titles: wizards. The studio’s previous releases include the Tap Wizard series and WizUp.

Sprint across a neon path

In the game, you dash along a glowing path that crumbles behind you as you unleash spells in every direction. You play as a wizard in a low-tech cyberpunk world brimming with pixel art and glitchy aesthetics.

The game features 28 spells to experiment with, including effects like echo, havoc, behemoth, and aftershock. Chain them together to amplify their power. You’ll also have 74 trinkets to craft wild, unpredictable builds.

You never know which trinkets or spells you’ll get—keeping every run fresh and thrilling. As you run, collect Orbs, Stars, Gems, and Neon to unlock new upgrades and spells at the Neon Core.

Neon Spellstorm blends 2.5D mixed media, combining 2D sprites with low-poly 3D models to create a striking, one-of-a-kind visual style. Get a sneak peek right here.

The game lets you customize your wizard before each run. Choose from six unique characters, then select spells, fates, archetypes, and sigils to match your playstyle. Once you’re in the fray, you decide how to navigate the map.

Pre-Registration for Neon Spellstorm Is Now Open on Android

You can pre-register for the game on the Google Play Store. Upon release, you’ll get free access to the demo, with a single in-app purchase to unlock the full experience. The tentative mobile launch date is August 11th, 2025.

The developers say the game’s style and mechanics draw inspiration from several hit titles—think Hades, Bastion, Risk of Rain 2, Slay the Spire, and TopCog’s own Tap Wizard 2. I hope the final product lives up to its promising potential.
