While it might seem like a whimsical addition at first glance, Floyd is indeed a legitimate secret fighter within the game.
Floyd serves as a walking tribute to the iconic rock band Pink Floyd, drawing inspiration from the album cover of The Dark Side of the Moon, which famously depicts the dispersion of light into various colors. Interestingly, Floyd's fighting style is a blend of moves borrowed from other ninjas in the game. He can freeze opponents like Sub-Zero and wield spears like Scorpion. Adding to his unique charm, Floyd boasts a quirky health total of 1337 points.
For long-time fans of the franchise, Floyd's introduction may evoke a sense of déjà vu, reminiscent of Reptile from the original Mortal Kombat game. Reptile, another secret fighter, was notoriously difficult to defeat and similarly used a mix of other ninjas' moves.
Currently, the Mortal Kombat 1 community is actively working to decipher the method to trigger an encounter with the elusive pink ninja, Floyd. The appearance seems somewhat random at present, although Floyd provides hints about the challenges that need to be completed. However, a complete and confirmed method to unlock him has yet to be established.
