A recent discovery by Mortal Kombat 1 dataminer InfiniteNightZ has sparked excitement among fans with evidence suggesting the return of Hara-Kiri Fatalities, potentially in the form of Quitalities. In a video shared on Reddit, InfiniteNightZ showcased what appear to be Hara-Kiri animations, a feature first introduced in Mortal Kombat: Deception back in 2004, where the defeated player performs a self-Fatality.

The dataminer's findings include Hara-Kiri animations for recently released DLC characters like Ghostface, suggesting that these animations might be included in a future update for Mortal Kombat 1. "After seeing that they're adding it to the downloaded roster now, I think it's highly possible," InfiniteNightZ commented, hinting at the likelihood of their inclusion.
Furthermore, InfiniteNightZ pointed out that these animations are referenced as Quitalities within the game's code. Quitalities, which trigger when a player quits a multiplayer match, have been a feature in previous Mortal Kombat titles. "They are listed as Quitalities, there's still hope," InfiniteNightZ stated optimistically about the animations' potential implementation.
Following InfiniteNightZ's revelations, another prominent dataminer, Interloko, discovered additional Hara-Kiri animations, further supporting the speculation. Interloko noted, "Thanks @MatthewDim40523 for tagging me. Here are another 2 missing from the video, so looks like only Omniman and Conan don't have one." Interloko, however, has been busy with other projects and has not attempted to trigger these animations in-game.

I didn't try to trigger it in the game because I'm busy finishing some stuff of the demo of my own game https://t.co/TqBKyauY0G pic.twitter.com/hL4QzLRXwf
It's important to note that neither NetherRealm Studios nor Warner Bros. Games has officially announced the inclusion of Quitalities in Mortal Kombat 1, so these findings remain speculative. Meanwhile, the game has seen a resurgence of interest with the addition of a secret fight against Floyd, the pink ninja, and the community's efforts to unlock him. Fans also have the T-1000 guest character to anticipate, along with potential additional DLC, though NetherRealm has yet to confirm further details.
