Niantic unveils Monster Hunter Now's highly anticipated Season 7: Advent of the Exploration Base, launching September 18, 2025 as the game's official autumn season. This major update introduces fresh monsters, fully realized exploration bases, enhanced style customization, and innovative armor skills.
Expanding the monster lineup
Hunters will immediately encounter Espinas, Garangolm, and Lunagaron when the season begins. The terrifying Riftborne Deviljho emerges on September 22nd as a new riftborne threat, with customizable weapons joining its debut.
The style customization system introduced last season receives significant improvements. Weapon parameters now scale more powerfully with each upgrade level, allowing customized equipment to match top-tier gear.
Exploration bases, previously in beta testing, officially launch worldwide in Season 7. These collaborative hubs tied to local landmarks operate similarly to Niantic's Pokéstops in Pokémon GO, strengthening through player participation.
New armor sets for Espinas, Garangolm, and Lunagaron introduce six combat skills: Pursuit enhances damage during initial part breaks; Ballistics extends critical range for ranged attacks. Reckless boosts damage at the cost of perfect dodges, while Guard Up enables blocking normally unstoppable attacks. Vital Fire and Vital Ice dynamically scale elemental power with remaining health.
Introducing customizable monster spawns
Season 7 grants hunters control over which monster groups appear locally. The update also streamlines weapon progression - forging and upgrading most weapons now requires fewer materials.
