Capcom has extended the Monster Hunter Wilds beta following a 24-hour PlayStation Network outage that disrupted the previous test. The PSN outage, occurring from 3 PM PT on Friday, February 7th, resulted in a full day of service interruption. Sony attributed the issue to an "operational problem" and compensated PlayStation Plus subscribers with five additional days of service.
This outage significantly impacted online gaming, including the highly anticipated second beta for Monster Hunter Wilds, originally scheduled from Thursday, February 6th to Sunday, February 9th. In response to the disruption, Capcom announced a 24-hour extension to the next beta session.
The revised beta dates are:
February 13th, 7 PM PT / February 14th, 3 AM GMT – February 17th, 6:59 PM PT / February 18th, 2:59 AM GMT
Capcom confirmed that players participating during this extended period will still receive the participation bonuses offered in the full game.
Despite last week's downtime, beta participants had the opportunity to face Arkveld, a formidable new monster in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Monster Hunter Wilds officially launches on February 28th, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
