MindsEye Dev Urges Fans to Wait After Early Street Date Leak

By EmmaOct 15,2025

The developers at Build A Rocket Boy have urged fans to wait for MindsEye's official launch before playing, after some gamers obtained early physical copies and shared premature opinions online.

Twitter user @MrHazel88 posted images of an early MindsEye disc along with critical tweets describing the game as a "technical mess."

With MindsEye's official release scheduled for June 10, Build A Rocket Boy responded publicly, requesting players avoid posting spoilers and confirming a crucial day-one update for optimal gameplay experience.

The studio emphasized this "major" update will deliver "key improvements to ensure MindsEye performs as intended and introduces characters properly." Regarding spoilers, they stressed the game's narrative relies heavily on "twists and emotional moments" best experienced simultaneously by all players.

The early leaks and criticisms compound recent challenges for Build A Rocket Boy. Last week, co-CEO Mark Gerhard controversially suggested an organized campaign to damage the game's reputation through paid comments and bot activity.

The studio faced additional scrutiny when two high-profile executives departed shortly before launch, raising concerns among their growing fanbase.

MindsEye launches June 10, 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms, blending elements from major open-world franchises with user-generated content features described as "AAA Minecraft."

Priced at $59.99, the release includes a story campaign, free roam modes, multiple mission types (including horde and combat scenarios), and various racing challenges. Premium pass holders gain access to additional content.

Build A Rocket Boy promises ongoing monthly content updates post-launch, featuring new missions, assets, and gameplay modes throughout 2025 - with seasonal expansions planned through summer, fall, and winter.
