Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater (MGS Delta) features Fox Hunt as its fresh multiplayer component, succeeding the original Metal Gear Online. During Konami's recent PRESS START livestream on June 12th, Fox Hunt Director Yu Sahara offered exclusive commentary about revamping multiplayer mechanics.

Sahara describes Fox Hunt as an "entirely original online multiplayer experience" existing within MGS Delta's universe while providing distinct gameplay. This innovative mode replaces Metal Gear Online from MGS3: Subsistence.

Multiplayer Innovation in MGS Delta

The director acknowledged longtime Metal Gear Online fans while explaining their creative direction: "The multiplayer landscape has evolved tremendously since MGO's debut." According to Sahara, their team focused on elevating core camouflage and stealth mechanics.

"We aimed to create something truly distinctive - moving beyond conventional shooter gameplay. By focusing on stealth dynamics and strategic positioning, we've crafted a multiplayer experience uniquely Metal Gear," Sahara elaborated.

Previous Metal Gear Online iterations featured traditional competitive modes across MGS titles. The developers promise additional Fox Hunt details will emerge leading up to launch.

Xbox-Exclusive Snake vs. Bomberman Mode Announced

Konami previously confirmed PlayStation 5 and Steam versions will exclusively revive "Snake vs. Monkey" mode. During MGS Delta's Xbox showcase trailer, developers unveiled "Snake vs. Bomberman" as their exclusive counterpart.

The trailer description reads: "Command Snake against Bomberman in this special confrontation mode. Strategically eliminate opponents across unique battlegrounds!"

Konami remains committed to delivering an authentic remake while modernizing gameplay systems for contemporary audiences. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater launches August 28th on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms.
