Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater's ESRB rating has unveiled the return of the Peep Demo Theater feature. Dive in to discover more about this feature and the enhancements to the game's camouflage system.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Returning and Improved Features
Peep Demo Theater Returns
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater (MGS Delta) has recently been rated by the ESRB, confirming that the developers are bringing back a notable feature from the original game: the Peep Demo Theater. MGS Delta has been given an M for Mature rating, and the ESRB's detailed summary confirms the inclusion of this feature.
The Peep Demo Theater, previously seen in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater’s Subsistence and HD Collection versions, showcases all cutscenes featuring the female spy EVA, but with a twist—she appears in her underwear. Players can freely manipulate the camera, zooming in on any part of her body. Unlocking this mode requires collecting all other cutscenes in the Demo Theater, which involves completing the game four times.
While the Mature rating aligns with the game's themes of violence and gore, as players navigate the role of an elite soldier on a covert mission, the return of the Peep Demo Theater, often referred to as the "Creepy mode," was unexpected. Many fans did not anticipate the reintroduction of this controversial and sexually explicit content.
Faster Camouflage System
In other exciting news, MGS Delta introduces a streamlined camouflage system. A recent post from METAL GEAR OFFICIAL on Twitter (X) on March 28 showcased a video demonstrating the new, swift camouflage-changing process. The post announced, "Change camouflage for faces, uniforms, and more on the fly with this new feature in METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER."
The footage reveals that players can now switch their camouflage in under three seconds, a significant improvement over the original Metal Gear Solid 3, where changing camouflage was a cumbersome process. In the original, players had to pause the game, navigate through menus, and select their camouflage, which disrupted the flow, particularly during stealth sequences, and diminished the game's immersive experience.
As the release date of MGS Delta approaches, fans are eagerly anticipating the remake, excited about the returning features and the quality-of-life improvements that promise to enhance their gaming experience. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is scheduled for release on August 26, 2025, and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
