Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Unveils New Opening Movie

By AuroraMay 27,2025

As the eagerly awaited release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater draws nearer, set for August, Konami has unveiled the stealth game's opening movie. This cinematic introduction will strike a familiar chord with fans of the original, featuring the iconic newspapers rolling across the screen and the classic James Bond-esque title song, brought back to life by Cynthia Harrell, the original performer.

The opening video tantalizingly hints at various scenes from the game, though without context. Highlights include Snake executing a spectacular backward leap off a waterfall, reminiscent of an Olympic diver, and the intriguing moment where Snake lives up to his moniker by consuming a snake. These glimpses promise an engaging experience for players.

PlayMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a remake of Konami's beloved 2004 action espionage title, originally known simply as Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The publisher has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will launch on August 28. Excitingly, the beloved Snake vs. Monkey minigame is also making a return. The game will retain the suggestive and sexual content from the original, including the Peep Demo Theatre, as noted in its age rating.

IGN's preview of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater suggests that the remake feels more like a highly polished HD remaster rather than a comprehensive reimagining. While it offers a stunningly nostalgic journey, it remains almost overly faithful to the source material. This approach has its charm, especially considering the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater earned an impressive 9.6 rating from IGN. The inclusion of a new first-person perspective for Snake adds a fresh layer to the familiar gameplay.
