"Marvel Rivals Bans Console Players Using Keyboard and Mouse"

NetEase Games has officially announced that players using keyboard and mouse adapters on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles while playing Marvel Rivals will face account blocks. This action is taken because such use is deemed a violation of the game's rules, granting users an unfair advantage due to the increased control sensitivity and continued aiming assistance.

Adapters like XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper enable players to simulate gamepad inputs with a keyboard and mouse. This setup provides a significant edge in competitive play, particularly when auto-targeting features are enabled. NetEase Games clarifies that:

“We define adapters as devices or programs that emulate gamepad control using a keyboard and mouse. This practice creates an imbalance in the game, especially in competitive modes.”

To enforce this policy, the company has developed specialized tools that accurately detect the use of these adapters. Upon detection of any violations, the offending accounts are immediately blocked.

Additionally, it has been observed that in Marvel Rivals, higher frame rates (FPS) can lead to increased ping. While this may not be significantly noticeable at lower pings, a sudden jump to 150 ms from a typical 90 ms can severely disrupt gameplay. This issue appears to be connected to the frame rate. Players are currently advised to wait for a patch that might address this problem and to experiment with finding the optimal FPS to ping ratio. Some suggest maintaining an FPS around 90, which might seem low to players accustomed to games like Counter-Strike 2, but it is considered suitable for Marvel Rivals at the moment.
