The once-impossible dream of Marvel Rivals on Nintendo Switch is now looking increasingly likely, thanks to the upcoming Switch 2. While NetEase previously dismissed a release on the original Switch due to technical limitations, the more powerful successor could change everything.
At the DICE Summit, producer Weikang Wu confirmed active discussions with Nintendo are underway. The key hurdle? Ensuring consistently smooth performance on the new hardware. Wu stated:
"The first-generation Switch simply didn’t have the power to deliver the gameplay experience we envisioned. But if the Switch 2 can handle it, we’re absolutely ready to bring the game to the platform."

Game director Thaddeus Sasser previously ruled out immediate plans for a mobile version or a release on the original Switch. However, a Switch 2 port would likely necessitate a custom build tailored to the console's specifications.
The officially announced Nintendo Switch 2 is already attracting major industry players. Phil Spencer has suggested Xbox's interest in bringing its games to the platform, and Electronic Arts (EA) has also expressed support.
Meanwhile, Marvel Rivals itself is set for further expansion, with the Fantastic Four set to join the roster in upcoming updates.
