Set to launch on August 1, 2025, Edge of Eternities hasn't revealed any card spoilers yet, but there's still plenty to be excited about. Here’s a comprehensive overview of what we know so far about Magic: The Gathering: Edge of Eternities.

What is MTG Edge of Eternities?

This year, Wizards of the Coast is diving deep into Universes Beyond with sets inspired by established franchises like Final Fantasy, followed by Spider-Man and Avatar: The Last Airbender. However, Edge of Eternities takes a different approach, focusing on a cosmic theme within the Magic universe itself. It's positioned uniquely between the Final Fantasy and Spider-Man sets.

Although we've only seen concept art so far, Edge of Eternities is set to kick off the final chapter of the Metronome storyline, which began with Wilds of Eldraine. If you've been following the narrative, this set promises to be a pivotal point in the saga.

Play Boosters have now become the standard for opening packs, replacing the older Set and Draft Boosters. Designed for both draft and sealed play, each pack contains 15 cards, with the last typically being an advertisement, art card, or token. The first six cards are commons, with the seventh being a common that can be a reprint. Uncommons occupy slots 8, 9, and 10, while card 11 is your guaranteed rare or mythic rare. Card 12 is a Land, potentially foil or with full art, and card 13 is a wildcard slot that can be any card from the set. Card 14 is a guaranteed foil wildcard, increasing your chances of pulling chase cards. You can purchase Play Boosters singly or in a booster box.

Collector Boosters

Many of the cards come with enhanced frame designs, and 12 to 13 of them are foils. You can buy these individually or as a box, but be prepared for a higher cost.

World Shaper, themed in Black, Red, and Green (Jund), encourages players to "Sacrifice Lands" and "Grow Back Stronger". Counter Intelligence, in Blue, Red, and White (Jeskai), focuses on "Boosting Artifacts" and "Proliferating Counters".
