Gameplay leaks surfaced as early as 2022, shortly after the game's closed beta testing began. These leaks have re-emerged two years later, indicating that the project is still in development. Adding to the intrigue, an introductory cinematic has now been leaked online, following what appears to be a reboot of the game's development.
The origin and authenticity of this cinematic have not been officially confirmed. It was shared by blogger Shaun Weber, known for leaking gaming content. Weber hinted that more videos from Project U might surface if the game remains in development for an extended period.
Project U is anticipated to be a session-based cooperative shooter, taking inspiration from the success of Helldivers 2. The leaked footage suggests that the game's narrative centers on an alien machine invasion of Earth, with players assuming the roles of chosen individuals tasked with combating this extraterrestrial threat.
As of now, Ubisoft has not provided any official information regarding the formal announcement of Project U.
