The highly anticipated PC version of Stellar Blade is set to launch on Steam on June 11, accompanied by an array of PC-specific features, as revealed by a trailer that was accidentally leaked by Sony itself. The trailer, initially published by Sony Interactive Entertainment on the PlayStation YouTube channel before being taken down, showcased the upcoming Stellar Blade Complete Edition for both PS5 and PC. As expected, the internet quickly captured and shared the trailer, which is anticipated to be officially released soon.
The Stellar Blade Complete Edition includes the base game along with all the DLC released to date for both platforms. This news follows the game's successful launch on PS5 in April 2024. The PC version comes packed with features tailored for the platform, including AI upscaling with Nvidia DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3, an unlocked framerate, Japanese and Chinese voiceover options, ultrawide display support, enhanced environment textures, and DualSense support for haptic feedback and trigger effects.
The trailer also introduced a new boss battle against Mann, the Leader of the Sentinels, and 25 new costumes, which are expected to be available on PS5 as well. Additionally, eagle-eyed fans spotted a new scene at the trailer's end where Eve releases a memory stick—a sequence not present in the original game. This has sparked speculation about a potential new ending or additional DLC for Stellar Blade.
Developed by the Korean studio Shift Up, Stellar Blade was a significant success, generating $43 million in royalties in its last financial year. The company anticipates that the PC version will surpass the sales of the PS5 version, which sold over 1 million copies within two months of its release. Shift Up has also expressed interest in developing another game in the Stellar Blade franchise.
In Stellar Blade, players assume the role of Eve, fighting against mysterious invaders to reclaim Earth in a fast-paced action role-playing game. While the game earned a 7/10 in IGN's review, it was well-received overall and quickly sold a million copies. "Stellar Blade is great in all of the most important ways for an action game, but dull characters, a lackluster story, and several frustrating elements of its RPG mechanics prevent it from soaring along with the best of the genre," the review stated.
