In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, diving into side quests like *Bad Blood* not only enriches your gameplay but also deepens your connection with the game's characters. Here's a detailed guide on how to start and complete the *Bad Blood* quest.
How to Start Bad Blood in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Once you gain the freedom to explore the open world in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, you'll need to progress in the quest to find Mutt. At a clearing near Bozhena’s hut, Henry will suggest checking if Bozhena has seen anything related to Mutt. Head over to her hut and inquire about Mutt. Bozhena will reveal that her daughter, Pavlena, is missing. Agreeing to help her will add the *Bad Blood* quest to your journal.
Gather Information
Start by heading to Troskowitz and speaking with Bailiff Thrush, then visit Innkeeper Betty at the tavern to learn more about Bozhena and Pavlena, including why they were ostracized from the village. Next, travel to the designated area to speak with the woodcutters. Find Woodcutter Dushko, who will point you towards Roman’s house. Remember to save your game before attempting to lockpick Roman’s door.
Inside Roman’s house, inspect Pavlena’s basket, then speak with Dushko again for additional clues leading you to a clearing near Roman’s house, a favored spot for the couple.
Search the Scene
From Roman’s house, follow the objective marker downhill towards a stream, then take a left at the two large boulders to reach the spot. Follow the trail of blood to find Roman’s body. Continue your investigation by speaking with Hogherd Hugo, then return to Troskowitz's farm to interrogate Hired Hand Straw. Passing a dialogue check with Straw will uncover details about Jakesh and the truth behind Roman and Pavlena’s situation. Optionally, discuss Straw's fate with Thrush. Then, proceed to the rocks south of Zhelejov to further your investigation.
Confront Ota
Navigate through the objective area, circling the large boulder to find a path. Ascend the ladder to encounter Ota and Pavlena. With sufficient Charisma, you can persuade Ota to release Pavlena using these dialogue options:
- “What’s your name?”
- “Let her go and I’ll let you go.”
- “I’ll put in a good word for you with His Lordship.”
Once Pavlena is freed, she will kill Ota. After speaking with her, return to Bozhena together, where Bozhena will request you to deal with Jakesh.
Kill Jakesh or Make Peace
Your final choice is whether to kill Jakesh or broker peace between him and Bozhena. Find Jakesh at his child’s grave. You can either eliminate him or engage in dialogue to seek reconciliation. Alternatively, you could kill Bozhena, though this is less recommended. The quest concludes based on your decision. In my experience, killing Jakesh and reporting back to Bozhena yielded a reward.
Should You Kill Jakesh?
Killing Jakesh will decrease your reputation in Troskowitz but significantly boost it with Bozhena and Pavlena. You'll unlock new dialogue options with Pavlena and receive a necklace she received from Roman.
Choosing to spare Jakesh and facilitate peace will earn you 100 groschen from him. When reporting back to Bozhena, you can choose to keep the money or share it with her, allowing Bozhena and Pavlena to return to the settlement.
