Let the demon hunting begin. Netflix is bringing the iconic video game series Devil May Cry to life with an anime adaptation, and fans have just been treated to a tantalizing new trailer. What's even more thrilling is the announcement that the legendary late voice actor Kevin Conroy will be featured posthumously in this exciting new project.
Conroy, renowned for his iconic portrayal of Bruce Wayne and Batman across numerous animated films and TV shows, takes on the role of VP Baines, a new character introduced in the series. His voice can be heard in the opening of the trailer, adding a poignant touch to the sneak peek.
Conroy's final performance in *Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3* back in July 2024 earned widespread acclaim, making his role in *Devil May Cry* a cherished opportunity for fans to hear his voice once more. Conroy passed away in November 2022 at the age of 66. Joining him in the cast are Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Chris Coppola as Enzo, and Johnny Yong Bosch lending his voice to the protagonist, Dante.According to Netflix's official synopsis, “Sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.”
The production is in the capable hands of Studio Mir, a South Korean studio celebrated for their work on The Legend of Korra and X-Men ‘97. Fans can mark their calendars for the premiere of Devil May Cry on Netflix, set for April 3, 2025.
