1. Jurassic Park (1993)
The Jurassic Park series begins with the 1993 film, which directly adapts Michael Crichton's novel. 2. The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)
Set four years after the events of the original, The Lost World: Jurassic Park sees Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) and John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) return, joined by Julianne Moore as paleontologist Sarah Harding. The narrative shifts to Isla Sorna, another island where Hammond had cloned dinosaurs, which was subsequently abandoned.
The plot unfolds as two factions vie for control of InGen, Hammond's company. One group, led by his nephew Peter Ludlow (Arliss Howard), seeks to exploit the dinosaurs commercially, while Hammond, Malcolm, and Harding aim to preserve the island as a nature sanctuary for scientific study. Amidst territorial dinosaurs, the factions clash, leading to intense chase scenes and loss of life. The film culminates with a T-Rex being transported to San Diego, where it escapes and wreaks havoc before being recaptured non-lethally by Malcolm and Harding.

3. Jurassic Park 3 (2001)
In Jurassic Park 3, Sam Neill reprises his role as Alan Grant, with Laura Dern briefly returning as Ellie Sattler. Set four years after The Lost World, the story takes us back to Isla Sorna, where Grant agrees to a helicopter tour of the island in exchange for funding his research, only to find it's a covert mission to rescue a missing boy and his father.
The group faces relentless dinosaur attacks, particularly from velociraptors, while searching for the lost individuals. Grant eventually calls upon Sattler for help in coordinating their rescue. This film marked a 14-year pause in the franchise's cinematic journey.
