- On February 27th, head to your preferred digital storefront (Steam, PlayStation Store, etc.).
- Search for Splitgate 2.
- Download the Crossplay Alpha Test.
What to Expect in Splitgate 2's Open Alpha Test
According to 1047 Games' Lead Writer, Nate Dern (via the PlayStation Blog), the Open Alpha will feature crossplay and a new 24-player mode: Multi-Team Portal Warfare. Three teams of eight will battle across Splitgate's largest map yet, experimenting with new weapons, perks, and equipment amidst the signature chaotic action.
The core gameplay, built around the beloved portal mechanics that defined the original, remains central. Players can expect the same insane outplays and trick shots. While new classes (or factions) with unique abilities will be introduced, the portal mechanic will remain the heart of the experience. Dern emphasizes that player feedback has significantly shaped the game's development, aiming to create a landmark FPS experience.
