Japan Expansion for Ticket to Ride: Build the Bullet Train Network!

Ticket to Ride enthusiasts can now embark on a virtual journey through Japan thanks to the latest expansion from Marmalade Game Studio and Asmodee Entertainment. The Japan Expansion introduces the iconic Japan map from the physical game to digital platforms, bringing a fresh twist to the classic board game experience.

Help Build the Train Network

Unlike the traditional version where you focus solely on your own train empire, the Japan Expansion encourages you to contribute to a national Bullet Train network that benefits everyone. It introduces a semi-cooperative gameplay element where you can either collaborate or play strategically to maximize your points. However, beware of the karma system; neglecting your Bullet Train responsibilities could cost you up to 20 points at the end of the game. So, while you might be tempted to let others do the heavy lifting, you'll need to pitch in to avoid penalties.

The expansion also introduces two new characters to enrich the gameplay experience. Nakanishi Kimiko, a travel blogger, adds a modern touch as she explores Japan's festival circuit with her dog. On the other hand, Moriyama Isamu, a gyōji or sumo referee, brings a slice of Japan's rich cultural heritage, enhancing the game's local flavor beyond just maps and trains.

Ticket to Ride Has Upgraded Trains with the Japan Expansion

Your train collection is set to expand with the addition of two new trains and two carriages. The Ichi Eki Saki train and the Tsuki Sleeper carriage cater to those looking for a more relaxed travel experience. Meanwhile, the Isogaba Maware train, paired with the Hayai carriage, offers a fast and efficient journey. With spring in the air, the Japan map's seasonal vibes are sure to enhance your gaming sessions.

The Japan Expansion for Ticket to Ride is available now for download, perfect for those looking to add a new dimension to their gameplay. You can find it on the Google Play Store.
