Insomniac Games' Ted Price reveals a missed opportunity: Resistance 4. In recent retirement interviews, Price confirmed that a Resistance 4 pitch was developed but ultimately shelved due to market timing and opportunity.
While the concept was lauded internally, the project never gained traction. Price expressed the team's enthusiasm for continuing the Resistance storyline, highlighting its unique alternate history setting and the untapped potential of the Chimera alien antagonists.
The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters, debuted on the PlayStation 3. Following its conclusion, Insomniac shifted focus to other franchises, including the critically acclaimed Marvel's Spider-Man series and the latest Ratchet & Clank installments.
Price's retirement announcement earlier this year marked the end of his 30-year tenure at Insomniac. Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang have been appointed as the studio's new co-heads. Insomniac's current projects include the recently PC-released Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and the upcoming Marvel's Wolverine.
