Insomniac Games, the creative force behind the Ratchet and Clank series, has expressed a keen interest in expanding their portfolio into the realm of film and television. This interest was voiced by co-Studio Head Ryan Schneider during a recent interview with Variety, following the announcement of founder and CEO Ted Price's retirement.

"We had an early taste with the Ratchet and Clank movie a few years back, and it's something we're eager to explore further. Ratchet and Clank hold a special place in our hearts," Schneider remarked.

The initial Ratchet and Clank film, released in 2016, garnered mixed reviews. However, with Insomniac's acquisition by Sony in 2019, the studio feels optimistic about their future in game-to-screen adaptations, buoyed by Sony's successful ventures like the critically acclaimed adaptation of The Last of Us.

Additionally, a Ghost of Tsushima Legends anime series is scheduled for release on Crunchyroll in 2027. Sony is also developing a Helldivers feature film and a Horizon Zero Dawn live-action film, though release dates for these projects have yet to be announced.

Amidst discussions about future adaptations, Insomniac's founder and CEO, Ted Price, announced his retirement after a remarkable 30-year tenure. Insomniac Games, known for iconic franchises such as "Spyro the Dragon," "Ratchet & Clank," and "Marvel’s Spider-Man," will continue to thrive under new leadership.

Price shared, "I made this decision last year. After over 30 years at the helm of Insomniac, it felt like the right time to step back and allow new leaders to chart our course."

Taking over as co-Studio Heads are three seasoned Insomniac veterans: Ryan Schneider, Chad Dezern, and Jen Huang. Price emphasized the importance of this transition, stating, "To maintain our success, we need leaders who understand our culture and processes intimately, and who have earned the trust of our team."
