Freedom Wars Remastered displays each Abductor's health bar prominently on its torso. Players utilize diverse weapons and items to deplete this health and secure victory. The game features various damage types, each with unique mechanics. While Light Melee weapons often target specific body parts, Impact Damage functions similarly, playing a crucial role in combat strategy.
Mastering Impact Damage significantly improves Abductor takedown speed. This guide details Impact Damage's function and its optimal use in Freedom Wars Remastered.
What is Impact Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered?
Impact Damage is primarily found on Heavy Melee weapons and some Ranged Weapons. While a numerical value accompanies the Impact Damage percentage, it doesn't directly increase total damage output. Instead, it's non-elemental damage that boosts the power of regular attacks, thus accelerating the Abductor's stagger rate. A full stagger meter results in the Abductor staggering, falling, or exhibiting unique reactions, creating a window for substantial damage before recovery.
Unlike the visible health bar, the stagger meter is hidden, meaning staggering can occur at any point once a threshold is reached. This presents both advantages and disadvantages. Offline play allows for charged attacks and maximized damage output. However, in online play, staggering an Abductor might hinder teammates' attacks. Some Abductors, like Ramosa, react by moving backward, potentially complicating precise hit placement during a stagger.
Boosting Stagger Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered
Increasing Stagger Damage requires unlocking the Weapon Development Facility. This facility enables weapon crafting and customization, offering various enhancement options. The Manufacture Modules feature allows creation of modules using gathered resources. The Stagger Damage Up Module necessitates Glassy Carbon, a common field resource in Basic Operations. Synthesise Modules combine identical modules to upgrade their effectiveness. After crafting, attach the module to a weapon to enhance Impact Damage and improve staggering capabilities.
Since Impact Damage is non-elemental, prioritizing physical damage upgrades over elemental enhancements maximizes staggering efficiency.
Modules like Stagger Damage Up are particularly beneficial for users of heavy melee weapons or ranged weapons naturally adept at building stagger.
