Hyper Light Breaker features seven crucial resources. Mastering these is key to acquiring gear, unlocking permanent upgrades, boosting survivability, and expanding your character roster. This guide clarifies how to obtain and utilize each resource effectively. Resources are conveniently tracked in the inventory menu's items tab.
How to Get & Use Bright Blood in Hyper Light Breaker
Bright Blood is Hyper Light Breaker's most common resource. Earn it by defeating enemies, smashing destructible objects, and looting crates in the Overgrowth. Selling gear to Hub vendors also yields Bright Blood.
Use Bright Blood to:
- Loot Blades and Rails from corpses in the Overgrowth.
- Open Stashes and crates in the Overgrowth.
- Purchase gear from Overgrowth and Hub vendors.
- Upgrade gear at Hub vendors.
How to Get & Use Gold Ration in Hyper Light Breaker
Obtain Gold Rations by completing Cycles. Early game, this involves dying four times and using all your Rezes. After depleting your Rezes, find the NPC at the Hub's Telepad and provide the requested materials to reset the Overgrowth and progress towards Gold Rations.
Gold Rations are vital for meta-progression. Use them at Pherus Bit in the Hub to unlock permanent upgrades. They also unlock new vendor services in the Hub.
How to Get & Use Abyss Stone in Hyper Light Breaker
Defeating Crowns—challenging bosses found via Overgrowth gates—rewards Abyss Stones. Remember, you need Prisms (marked by yellow diamonds on the map) before facing Crowns.
Like Gold Rations, Abyss Stones are for meta-progression. Use them during loadout confirmation to upgrade Sycom stats and unlock new characters.
How to Get & Use Key in Hyper Light Breaker
Keys are occasionally found in small, unmarked containers throughout the Overgrowth.
Keys bypass barriers in the Overgrowth, granting access to Stashes and other containers. They also unlock Labs, subterranean areas with enemies and loot.
How to Get & Use MediGem in Hyper Light Breaker
MediGems are crucial. Collect them from small glowing flowers in the Overgrowth. They're exchanged for Medkits when deploying from the Hub's Telepad or visiting Shrines.
You'll need to expand your Medkit capacity (to one) first. Use a Gold Ration at Pherus Bit in the Hub to unlock the Medkit Capacity node.
How to Get & Use Core in Hyper Light Breaker
Cores are another meta-progression resource. Find them in Overgrowth Stashes (marked with chest icons) or by combining four Core Shards. Shards are earned from enemies that drop Prisms (yellow diamond markers) and from unmarked lootable objects.
Use Cores during loadout confirmation to upgrade your Sycom, enhancing your Breaker's stats.
How to Get & Use Material in Hyper Light Breaker
Materials are primarily obtained by using Bright Blood to open small chests (often marked with gems) in the Overgrowth. Selling gear at the Hub also provides Materials.
Use Materials to purchase gear from Hub and Overgrowth vendors. Similar to Bright Blood, but with more limited uses.
