Hungry Horrors: Steam Demo Out Now, Mobile Soon

Get ready for a unique culinary adventure with Hungry Horrors, the quirky roguelite deckbuilder from Clumsy Bear Studio, a UK-based game developer. Instead of battling monsters, you'll be cooking up a storm to satisfy their insatiable appetites. The first playable demo of Hungry Horrors is now available on Steam, and fans can also check it out on Itch and GOG.

Following its PC debut, Clumsy Bear Studio plans to bring Hungry Horrors to mobile and console platforms, though an official release date has yet to be announced. The team has been actively engaging with the community, showcasing the game at events like the London Game Festival 2025.

The Steam demo offers a substantial preview of what's in store. Players can explore two handcrafted biomes, serve six different hungry monsters, engage in two boss fights, and interact with four NPCs. Additionally, there are non-combat zones like the Nook and the Trove where players can regroup and refine their culinary strategies.

More About Hungry Horrors

In Hungry Horrors, you play as a princess tasked with preparing traditional British and Irish dishes to appease folklore creatures and prevent them from turning you into their next meal. The game masterfully blends deckbuilding with culinary arts, offering a delightfully bizarre experience.

Featuring a retro pixel art style and gothic atmosphere, Hungry Horrors stands out with its humor. You'll be cooking dishes like Bara Brith and Cranachan, trying to cater to each monster's unique and often peculiar tastes. Iconic creatures like Jenny Greenteeth, the blood-thirsty swamp witch, and Black Annis, the child-snatching hag with iron claws, await your culinary creations.

The game challenges you to understand and cater to each monster's preferences. From Grendel to Redcap, each has distinct cravings—some might adore sweet treats while others detest fish. The deckbuilding aspect adds a strategic layer, where you'll combine ingredients and utilize utensils like spices and herbs to enhance your dishes. Balancing flavor profiles and planning your meals is key to success.

As you advance, you'll unlock new recipes, ingredients, legendary artifacts, and rescued familiars. For more details and to try the demo, visit the Hungry Horrors Steam page.
