Madam Herta, a formidable 5-Star Ice Erudition unit in Honkai: Star Rail, is an Emanator of Nous, the Aeon of Erudition.  As member 83 of the Genius Society and founder of the Herta Space Station, her younger self serves as the model for the numerous Herta puppets seen throughout the station, including the playable 4-star variant.

Her Erudition path makes her excel in AoE combat, though she performs well even with fewer targets.  Significant self-buffs and damage multipliers, such as an 80% team-wide CRIT DMG boost with another Erudition unit and a three-turn personal ATK buff from her Ultimate, make her relatively easy to build, offering several F2P-friendly options.

Her gameplay centers around Inspiration and Interpretation stacks.  Consuming Inspiration enhances her Skill, while Interpretation stacks on enemies boost her Enhanced Skill and Ultimate damage.  This guide outlines optimal build options to maximize her potential.

Top Herta Relics in Honkai: Star Rail

Herta benefits from ATK, CRIT Rate, and CRIT DMG.  Since her Enhanced Skill and Ultimate are her primary damage sources, boosts to these are crucial.  While SPD is helpful, its importance depends on team synergy.  Scholar Lost in Erudition is her best Relic set, providing CRIT Rate, Skill/Ultimate damage boosts, and a further damage boost after her Ultimate.  Hunter of Glacial Forest is a strong alternative, offering Ice DMG and CRIT DMG boosts.  For newer players, any 2-piece combination of CRIT Rate, Ice DMG, or ATK% works.

Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm offer the best overall Planar Ornament performance, boosting ATK and CRIT Rate with another Erudition ally. Rutilant Arena is a comparable alternative, increasing CRIT Rate and Skill damage. Sigonia, the Unclaimed Desolation, excels in Pure Fiction but isn't recommended for general use.

Aim for 100% CRIT Rate using a CRIT Rate chest; support units can help bridge gaps.  SPD requirements depend on teammates and Eidolons.  Her Eidolons reduce SPD dependency. An Energy Regeneration Rope is unnecessary due to fixed Energy gain.


Best Herta Light Cones in Honkai: Star Rail

Into the Unreachable Veil (her signature Light Cone) is her best option, providing high base ATK, CRIT Rate, Skill/Ultimate damage boosts, and Skill Point recovery.  Night on the Milky Way is a strong alternative (effective with 5+ enemies), as are An Instant Before A Gaze, Before Dawn, and Yet Hope Is Priceless (stat sticks). Today Is Another Peaceful Day and Geniuses' Repose are excellent 4-star choices.  For beginners, Eternal Calculus, The Day The Cosmos Fell, and The Seriousness of Breakfast are usable options.
