Mastering the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia: A Guide to Ghost Hunting

Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

The Haunted Mirror is a valuable Cursed Object in Phasmophobia, offering significant advantages with manageable risk. Its function remains consistent across game updates, making it a highly recommended tool if encountered during an investigation.

This powerful artifact reveals the ghost's current preferred location on the map, providing a panoramic view of the room. Knowing the map layout allows for quicker ghost identification and strategic equipment placement before the investigation becomes perilous.

The Haunted Mirror's location is fixed for each map; however, its appearance is randomized. It's typically found hanging on a wall or resting on the floor in a predetermined spot.

To utilize the mirror, simply pick it up and interact with it using the designated button (mouse or controller). The reflection will display the ghost's favored room. On Professional difficulty and above, remember that the ghost's location may change after a time.

Caution: Prolonged observation drains sanity. Holding the mirror for its entire duration results in its shattering and triggers a Cursed Hunt at your current position. Use it wisely when sanity is high, and carefully interpret the reflection.

Cursed Possessions, often called "Cursed Objects," are unique, randomly spawning items in Phasmophobia. Their appearance can be influenced by difficulty settings and Challenge Mode.

Unlike standard equipment, which aids in ghost detection and evidence gathering with minimal risk, Cursed Objects offer strategic advantages but pose significant danger to your character.

The risk associated with each Cursed Object varies, leaving the decision of whether to use them to the players. There's no penalty for choosing not to utilize them. Only one Cursed Possession appears per contract (unless modified in Custom settings).

Seven Cursed Objects exist:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw
