As Hades 2 celebrates its first year in early access, Supergiant Games has shared exciting updates about the game's progress. Since its early access launch on May 6, 2024, the developer has been actively working towards the full release, expressing gratitude towards the community for their invaluable feedback and patience. Their latest X (formerly Twitter) post states, "It's been incredibly exciting and eye-opening as we've worked to realize the potential so many of you see in our game. Thank you for all your feedback and patience as we get closer to the finish line!"
Supergiant's previous title, Hades, also followed a similar early access path, taking 22 months to reach its full release. However, the team is optimistic about bringing Hades 2 to its full version sooner. The journey to the finish line is marked by significant milestones, with the next big step being the game's launch as a time-exclusive on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Launching First on the Nintendo Switch 2
Supergiant Games has confirmed in a Nintendo Creator's Voice video that Hades 2 will make its full debut on the Nintendo Switch 2. With the Switch 2 set to launch on June 5, fans can anticipate Hades 2's availability around that time. This release strategy highlights the game's significance as the first sequel Supergiant has ever developed, a decision the team approached with "a great deal of fear and respect."
Hades 2, the eagerly awaited sequel to the beloved rogue-like game, is currently available in early access. Its full release will first be on the Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Nintendo Switch, with a PC version to follow at a later date.
