Grand Theft Auto 6 remains on track for a Fall 2025 release. During the Q3 Earnings Conference Call on February 7, 2025, Take-Two Interactive shared insights into their current status and upcoming releases for the year.

CEO Strauss Zelnick expressed optimism about the Fall 2025 release, though he acknowledged the possibility of delays, stating, "Look, there's always a risk of slippage and I think as soon as you say words like absolutely, you jinx things." Despite this, Zelnick remains positive, saying, "We feel really good about it." He refrained from discussing development specifics but emphasized Rockstar's pursuit of perfection and the company's cautious optimism, adding, "I never claim success before it occurs. I'm fond of saying arrogance is the enemy of continued success, so we're all running scared and looking over our shoulders and we know that the competition is not asleep. Our whole organization is super excited."

Regarding the commercial prospects of these titles, Zelnick stated, "We are exceedingly optimistic about the commercial potential of our titles and believe that they will have a transformative effect on our business – and our industry – over the long term." The company is also looking forward to achieving record levels of Net Bookings in Fiscal 2026 and 2027.

The GTA franchise continues to be a juggernaut for Take-Two Interactive, with GTA 5 selling over 210 million units worldwide. The holiday update for GTA Online, "Agents of Sabotage," further boosted its performance, while GTA+, the membership program for GTA Online, experienced a 10% year-over-year growth.

Other titles from Take-Two also saw significant success in the third quarter. NBA 2K25 sold over 7 million units, with increased player engagement reflected in "Recurrent Consumer Spending up over 30%, Daily Active Users up nearly 20%, and Monthly Active Users up nearly 10%."

GTA 5 Actor Does Not Hate His Character

Fans have long speculated that Steven Ogg, the actor who played Trevor in GTA 5, dislikes being associated with the character. However, Ogg clarified this misconception during an interview on the Inside You podcast.

Ogg explained that he doesn't mind the character but dislikes being called Trevor, as it's not his real name. "When people call you by your character name, it's kinda weird because I kinda get it, but I'm also like meh," he said. He also praised Trevor, calling him "a great character" and mentioned his continued friendship with his co-stars Shawn Fonteno (Franklin) and Ned Luke (Michael), with whom he recently attended a Comic Con event.

In a previous interview with Screen Rant, Ogg jokingly suggested that Trevor could appear in GTA 6 only to be killed off early in the game. However, he confirmed that he has not recorded any content for GTA 6 and has no information about Trevor's potential return.

GTA 6 is slated for a Fall 2025 release, though no specific date has been announced. Stay updated with the latest news on GTA 6 by visiting our dedicated Grand Theft Auto 6 page.
