For fans of realistic driving simulators, January 16th, 2025 marks a significant date. Kunos Simulazioni Studios is launching Assetto Corsa Competizione EVO into Steam Early Access.
At launch, players will experience 20 meticulously detailed cars and 5 iconic tracks: Imola, Brands Hatch, Bathurst, Laguna Seca, and Suzuka. Despite being in Early Access, expect highly refined physics, precise handling, and incredibly realistic car behavior.
A standout feature is the free-roam mode, allowing for unrestricted exploration. A major summer 2025 update promises a massive addition: roads surrounding the legendary Nürburgring. This fully laser-scanned open world will initially span 1600 square kilometers, with gradual expansion planned.
Assetto Corsa Competizione EVO aims to challenge established giants like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport, boasting photorealistic graphics and advanced physics.
The initial release will feature 100 vehicles and 15 tracks, with more to come via free future updates. Each circuit will accurately replicate real-world conditions, including tire wear and wet track surfaces, enhanced by realistic animated spectators.
Developers have also refined car dynamics, focusing on suspension damping and shock absorption. The Driving Academy mode, a key single-player activity in Early Access, will challenge players to complete specific tracks within time limits, ultimately earning a license to unlock the best vehicles.
