Get ready for a colossal clash! Marvel Comics is unleashing a new series of one-shot crossover specials pitting Godzilla against its iconic heroes. IGN exclusively reveals the third installment: Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1.

Following Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four #1 and Godzilla vs. Hulk #1, this latest issue throws Spider-Man into the fray. Set in the 1980s, shortly after Secret Wars, the story finds Peter Parker still adjusting to his symbiote suit. He'll need every bit of its power to face the King of the Monsters.
Joe Kelly, the writer behind Marvel's upcoming Amazing Spider-Man relaunch, pens the script. Nick Bradshaw (known for Wolverine and the X-Men) provides the art, with cover art by Bradshaw, Lee Garbett, and Greg Land.
"The moment I heard about an '80s-set Godzilla/Spidey crossover, I practically jumped for it," Kelly shared with IGN. "This book is pure fun, showcasing two legendary characters and the era's unique energy. Nick Bradshaw perfectly captures the absurdity while giving Godzilla and Spidey (in his, shall we say, interesting black suit) the gravitas they deserve. It's a love letter with a monstrous roar!"
This isn't the first superhero-Godzilla showdown; DC's Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong (with a sequel in the works) featured the MonsterVerse versions. Marvel's series, however, focuses on Toho's classic Godzilla.
This announcement follows IDW's reveal of Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1, a charity anthology benefiting wildfire relief.
