Fallout 76 Season 20 Out Now
Unleash the Ghoul Within
Players can now experience the thrill of becoming a Ghoul through the "Leap of Faith" questline. This quest takes you to a previously unexplored part of the Savage Divide, where you'll encounter new characters crucial to your transformation. As a Ghoul, you unlock exclusive abilities like Glow and Feral, along with 30 new Ghoul-specific perks, or "Gherks."
The Feral ability revolutionizes gameplay by replacing traditional hunger and thirst mechanics with a Feral meter. Depending on its percentage, you'll receive different boosts, but letting it drop to 0% significantly alters your gameplay: "At 0%: you gain +150% Melee Damage, and lose -5 Endurance, -99 Charisma, -30 Max HP, -20 Max AP, -300% Hip-fire Gun Accuracy & V.A.T.S. Accuracy."
The Glow ability lets you consume radiation, rendering you immune to diseases and mutations, and causing you to actually glow. This ability not only increases your maximum health and heals damage but also enhances your Ghoul-exclusive perks.
With 28 perks to choose from and two new legendary perks, Ghouls have plenty of options to customize their gameplay. Note that traditional perks related to Hunger, Thirst, and Chem Resistance are unavailable to Ghouls, as they don't benefit from these.
A Day In The Life of A Ghoul
Navigating the wasteland as a Ghoul becomes easier with the unique abilities and perks you gain. However, be prepared for a colder reception from certain factions like the Brotherhood of Steel, who may turn hostile, potentially locking you out of some questlines.
Fear not, as a new NPC named Jaye offers disguises that allow you to access any content blocked due to your Ghoul status. If the Ghoul life isn't for you, you can revert to human form via the Character Screen, though this is a one-way trip. To become a Ghoul again, you'll need to spend 1000 Atoms on the Ghoul Retransformation option.
Level 50 Character Boost and Season 20 Patch Notes
New and veteran players alike can now expedite their journey with the Level 50 Character Boost, available for 1500 Atoms. This boost allows you to dive straight into multiplayer features like Daily Ops, Public Events, and select story content.
The Season 20 update also includes essential bug fixes and balance adjustments, covering accessibility improvements, combat balancing, and weapon damage tweaks. Bethesda has also teased the upcoming "The Big Bloom" update, set for April 29, as part of their season calendar.
Since its launch in November 2018, Fallout 76 has overcome its initial challenges and now boasts a "Mostly Positive" rating on Steam, with 76% of reviews being positive. The game is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, continuing to evolve with each update.
