Free Fire Set to Reclaim Esports Glory at 2025 World Cup with $1M Prize

Get ready for an exhilarating showdown as Free Fire, Garena's beloved mobile battle royale, gears up for the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025. With a staggering $1 million prize pool up for grabs, the tournament is set to take place in Riyadh from July 16th to 20th. As part of a multi-year partnership with EWC, fans can also anticipate Free Fire's presence at the event in 2026.

This summer, 18 elite Free Fire squads from around the globe will compete fiercely for their slice of the prize. The competition kicks off with a group stage, dividing the teams into three groups of six. The top twelve teams will advance to the Point-Rush stage, leading to the Grand Final where the champion will be determined through a match point format. An additional $10,000 MVP bonus awaits the standout individual performer of the tournament.

Free Fire at EWC 2025Last year's champions, Team Falcons, are set to defend their title after an impressive victory at the 2024 EWC. Despite a sluggish start in the Point-Rush stage, they surged ahead in the finals with two crucial Booyahs, securing the trophy and a berth at the World Series in Rio.

Qualifiers are already heating up. The FFWS SEA will conclude on June 14th, sending eight teams to Riyadh. LATAM and Brazil will contribute two and four teams, respectively, by June 1st and June 22nd. Additionally, one team each from Pakistan, the FF MSC, and Bangladesh will qualify. As defending champions, Team Falcons automatically return to the competition.
