FBC: Firebreak Release Date Announced for Remedy's Co-Op FPS in Control Universe

By AlexisApr 25,2025

Remedy has set the stage for excitement with the announcement of FBC: Firebreak, a thrilling addition to the Control universe, slated for release on June 17, 2025. This session-based, multiplayer PvE game promises an engaging experience through its replayable missions, known as Jobs, which offer diverse challenges, objectives, and environments. Players will need to harness teamwork and adaptability to succeed in this dynamic setting.

FBC: Firebreak will be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, priced at $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99. Gamers can dive into the action from day one through PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog (Extra and Premium). Notably, this marks Remedy's first venture into self-publishing.

For those looking for more, the FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition is priced at $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99 and includes a range of exclusive cosmetics and premium voice packs. Owners of the base game can upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for an additional $10 / €10 / £7. The Deluxe Edition boasts:

  • “The Firestarter” Premium Voice Pack
  • “The Pencil Pusher” Premium Voice Pack
  • Firestarter Armor Set, Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves)
  • Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin
  • Golden Firebreak Spray
  • Classified Requisition: “Firestarter”: A collection of 36 unlockable cosmetic items including weapon skins, sprays, and armor sets

The game introduces the Requisitions system, which rewards players with new gear and cosmetics simply by playing. This system includes weapons, equipment, armor, sprays, and more, all unlockable using in-game currency earned through gameplay. There are no limited-time windows or rotating stores; once an item is added, it remains available. For those seeking additional customization, Classified Requisitions offer premium cosmetic items, such as armor sets, custom voice packs, sprays, and weapon skins, purchasable with real money. These items are purely cosmetic and have no impact on gameplay, ensuring a fair experience for all players.

Remedy has committed to ongoing support for FBC: Firebreak post-launch, with plans to introduce two new Jobs in 2025 and further updates in 2026. All new playable content, including Jobs, will be free to all players. While players can purchase cosmetics, these items will not affect gameplay, and there will be no limited-time rotations or daily log-ins, ensuring a consistent and fair gaming environment.

Amidst a bustling lineup of projects, Remedy is also developing Control 2 and a Max Payne and Max Payne 2 remake compilation, keeping fans eagerly anticipating what's next from this innovative studio.
