A recently discovered Easter egg in the upcoming Marvel Rivals Season 1 has ignited speculation among players about the potential addition of Wong to the game's roster. The game, a multiplayer hero shooter already boasting over 10 million players in its first 72 hours, is set to launch Season 1, titled "Eternal Night," on January 10th.
Season 1's focus on supernatural Marvel characters, featuring Dracula as the main antagonist and the Fantastic Four (including their villainous counterparts, the Maker and Malice as skins) as playable characters, fuels this speculation. Reddit user fugo_hate, on r/marvelrivals, highlighted a brief glimpse of a Wong painting in the trailer for the new Sanctum Sanctorum map. This subtle inclusion has led many to believe Wong might become a playable character in the future.
The inclusion of Wong wouldn't be unprecedented. While a staple of Doctor Strange comics since the 1960s, his recent MCU popularity (thanks to Benedict Wong's portrayal) has boosted his profile. He's previously appeared in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (2006) and is playable in titles like Marvel Contest of Champions, Marvel Snap, and LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2.
