April is shaping up to be an exhilarating month for fans of Marvel Contest of Champions (MCOC), with a host of new champions, story developments, and events on the horizon. The highlight of the month is undoubtedly the introduction of Spider-Woman, the new champion who will join the roster starting April 17th.
Backstory of Spider-Woman in Marvel Contest of Champions
Spider-Woman, known as Jessica Drew, has a compelling origin story. As a child, she suffered from severe illness due to uranium exposure near her home. Her father, a brilliant geneticist, attempted to save her life by injecting her with a concoction of spider DNA. After a long period of recovery, Jessica overcame the initial adverse effects of the experiment and emerged with incredible spider-like powers, ultimately becoming the superhero known as Spider-Woman. Players can look forward to adding her to their team from April 17th.
Before Spider-Woman's debut, another intriguing champion will make an entrance into MCOC. Lumatrix, arriving on April 9th, is a formidable assassin created by the Founders. Designed for infiltration and elimination, Lumatrix wields powerful light-based abilities that make him a dangerous opponent.
What Else Is New in MCOC?
On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, titled "Inquisition," unfolds with intense developments. Carina suffers severe injuries after encountering Ouroborus forces, while Doctor Doom collaborates with the Fantastic Four to combat the spreading Chronoserpent corruption. A new villain, Lotan, adds another layer of intrigue to the story.
Gamers can also dive into the new Event Quest, "Spy Games," starting on April 9th and running until May 7th. In this quest, Black Widow investigates the mysterious Eidols, enlisting the help of Spider-Woman to unravel the mystery.
The return of Dark Phoenix in the Side Quest, "Dark Bounties," offers players another exciting challenge. Dark Phoenix has placed bounties on various champions, and players must hunt them down to claim their rewards.
