Squad Busters is undergoing significant changes, most notably the elimination of Win Streaks. This means the endless climb for consecutive victory rewards is coming to an end. However, this isn't the only update.
Why the Change and When?
The Win Streak system is being removed because it proved more stressful than celebratory for many players. Instead of fostering a sense of accomplishment, it added unnecessary pressure.
The feature will be removed on December 16th. Your highest win streak will remain on your profile as a record of your achievement.
To compensate for the removal, players who reach specific win streak milestones (0-9, 10, 25, 50, and 100) before December 16th will receive exclusive emotes.
There will be no refunds for coins spent on win streaks. The developers cite game balance concerns, particularly between free-to-play and paying players, as the reason. The coins, they argue, are crucial for obtaining characters from Reward Chests.
Player reaction to the change is mixed. Some welcome the reduced emphasis on "pay-to-win" aspects, while others are less enthusiastic about the removal and the perceived inadequacy of the compensation.
