Dying Light: The Beast's Indoor Rain and 'Disturbed Day/Night Cycle' Have Been Fixed, Techland Says

By FinnJun 01,2026

Dying Light: The Beast has deployed a hotfix to ensure that everyone who pre-ordered the title receives their Kyle Crane Legacy Skin. If you have updated to version 1.2.2, simply visit your in-game stash to claim it.

This update follows several other brief patches released since the standalone zombie survival game launched on September 18, most notably Hotfix 1.2.1, which resolved issues with "indoor rain and disturbed day/night cycle" while also adding the APEX Car Skin to the in-game stash for pre-order customers and owners of Dying Light 2 Ultimate Edition.

Techland identified these weather anomalies shortly after launch, assuring players they were "aware that you're experiencing issues with Indoor Rain and the Disturbed Day/Night Cycle, and fixing them is our top priority." However, because the bug manifested in only "rare situations," it required extensive additional testing to resolve properly.

Community comments have expressed relief over the hotfix release, though many players are still seeking solutions for ray tracing, stuttering, frame drops, and memory leaks.

In Dying Light: The Beast, you control Kyle Crane, a legendary hero who escapes after years of brutal experimentation. The game currently holds a 'Very Positive' rating on Steam and earned a 7/10 in our recent review, where we described it as "a goofy, bloody sequel with a monstrous twist, but doesn’t do much else to mix things up."

Dying Light: The Beast Hotfix 1.2.2 Patch Notes:

For those who pre-ordered the game, this update automatically grants your Kyle Crane Legacy Skin from the server. After updating, please check your in-game stash; if it does not appear immediately, it should arrive shortly.

Dying Light: The Beast Hotfix 1.2.1 Patch notes:

This fix resolves issues related to Indoor Rain and the Disturbed Day/Night Cycle. Once live across all platforms, the APEX Car Skin will be available in your in-game stash for anyone who pre-ordered or owns Dying Light 2 Ultimate Edition.
