Dungeonborne Officially Announces Shutdown Plans

The developers behind the PvPvE action game Dungeonborne, which drew inspiration from the acclaimed Dark and Darker, have officially announced the cessation of support and the impending closure of the game's servers. Despite an initial surge of interest, the project, which lasted less than a year, struggled to maintain its player base due to insufficient player engagement and a noticeable absence of substantial updates.

While Dungeonborne's page remains visible on Steam, it has been removed from the platform's search results and can only be accessed via a direct link. Although the official reasons for the shutdown remain undisclosed, it's evident that the game's dwindling player numbers were a significant factor. From late 2024, the game's concurrent player count never exceeded 200, and in the final days, it plummeted to a mere 10-15 players.

The servers for Dungeonborne are scheduled for permanent closure on May 28, signaling the end of the game's journey. What began with promise among fans of the genre will now quietly slip into obscurity, never fully realizing its potential.
