Among Us Partners with Genshin Impact, Adds New Roles

Among Us has launched its v17.0.0 update, introducing two brand-new roles and a surprising collaboration with Genshin Impact. Innersloth has added a fresh role for Crewmates and another for Impostors, fundamentally changing the dynamics of every Emergency Meeting and sabotage attempt.

Who are the new roles?

The new additions are the Detective for Crewmates and the Viper for Impostors. The Detective is the first Crewmate role to feature two distinct abilities. With the 'Notes' ability, you can document where a body was discovered, compile a list of suspects, and identify the type of Impostor you're facing.

Additionally, the 'Interrogate' ability allows you to question other Crewmates about their locations during the incident. The number of simultaneous interrogations is limited, requiring you to switch focus if multiple murders occur.

The Viper, in contrast, equips Impostors with a vicious new acid-based tactic. Victims of the Viper don't leave a standard corpse; instead, they gradually dissolve in three distinct stages until only bones remain, which eventually vanish completely.

A well-timed kill coordinated with a sabotage can make a body disappear entirely before anyone can call a meeting. Advanced host settings allow for adjustment of the dissolution speed, and the role includes a unique kill animation to match the gruesome effect.

What does the Among Us x Genshin Impact collaboration offer?

The Among Us x Genshin Impact crossover event runs from September 11th to October 11th, 2025. Players can unlock a free Paimon Cosmetic Set simply by logging in. This set includes a Paimon Wig, a Paimon Costume, and the 'Crest of the Best Travel Companion' nameplate.

This collaboration coincides with the launch of Genshin Impact's Version Luna I update, which introduces the new region of Nod-Krai. The partnership is somewhat unexpected, given Genshin Impact's scale and its history of collaborations beyond gaming, such as with automotive brands, food companies, and museums.
