Year of Prophecy Roadmap Revealed at Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate Reveal Event

Destiny 2 continues to expand its horizons with new content for the beloved free-to-play multiplayer shooter. During the Edge of Fate reveal livestream on May 7, Bungie unveiled the Year of Prophecy roadmap, showcasing an exciting array of upcoming events for the remainder of the year.

This year's events will introduce a fresh format for yearly updates. According to the developers, "Starting with the Year of Prophecy, each year will now feature four major content beats: two paid expansions and two major updates available to all."

These updates will bring new events, Exotic Missions, gear, rewards, and more. Importantly, this new structure ensures that all players can experience Destiny 2’s major updates without needing paid access to seasonal activities.

The Edge of Fate Launches July 15

Kickstarting the Year of Prophecy, Destiny 2 will launch its first expansion, The Edge of Fate, on July 15. Players will embark on a journey to a new location, Kepler, and harness never-before-seen abilities with the aid of new allies.

This update also introduces the Portal, "a new activity selection screen that will offer instant access to a range of activities tailored to different playstyles, making it easier than ever for players to find their next adventure."

Renegades Coming on December 2

Later this year, on December 2, Destiny 2 will release its second expansion, Renegades, in collaboration with the iconic Star Wars franchise.

This expansion merges Destiny’s creative storytelling and gameplay with Star Wars’ elements and themes, creating a sci-fi chapter that encapsulates the essence of both worlds. The story and events during this collaboration will be integral to the Fate Saga, introducing new characters, mechanics, and more.
