Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
How to Become a Shinigami in Hollow Era
At the start of Hollow Era, you begin as a Soul Spirit. To transform into a Shinigami, or Soul Reaper, you must accept the initial quest from the NPC named Hurt Shinigami, who is in dire need of assistance. Once you commit to this path, there's no turning back; you can't switch to playing as a Hollow unless you later become a Visored. If you're keen on exploring the Hollow route, please refer to our separate guide on Hollow progression.
During the Shinigami/Hollow selection process, timing is crucial. Opting for Hollow requires breaking your chain, whereas choosing Shinigami means the chain will slowly start to break regardless of your actions. Every two minutes, a section of the chain breaks, and if it completely breaks, you'll automatically become a Hollow. In such a scenario, you can explore our resurrection moves lists to prepare for your Hollow endgame.
Hollow Era Shinigami Quests Guide
Your first task as a Shinigami is to purify 6 Lost Souls, reflecting the duty of Shinigamis to maintain balance between life and death by purifying Lost Souls and defeating Hollows. After completing this, proceed to the next quest from the NPC near Hurt Shinigami, which involves delivering a letter to a Doctor near the hospital.
This initial phase is ideal for familiarizing yourself with your powers. Consider purchasing a $1,000 random sword of power from a Urakara shop, and if your budget allows, utilize the bus stop for $200 as a teleport/fast travel option due to the expansive map. Alternatively, for a more convenient experience, you can purchase infinite fast travel for 149 Robux in the Robux Shop.
From here, quests continue, always marked by a red crosshair. Your journey involves defeating Hollows, tackling Corrupted Shinigamis, and more until you reach level 15. Quests are categorized into repeatable, progression, and path-specific quests like Vizard and Airwalk.
Full Soul Reaper Skill Tree and Reiatsu
To maximize your Shinigami Reiatsu, strategic investment of your skill points is essential. The Reiatsu Skill Tree offers various powerful abilities known as Kido, exclusively for Shinigami characters.
The Kido and Reiatsu Nodes function as follows: Kido increases the damage dealt with Kido skills, while Reiatsu enhances your maximum Reiatsu output. Here's a list of Kido abilities and their effects:
- Caja Negacion: Forms a beam of lightning from your finger. When combined with Electric, it spreads electricity from the target.
- Shakkaho: Creates a red energy ball in your hand that explodes on impact. Using Ragdoll enables you to ragdoll opponents, and Fire sets them ablaze.
- Chain Bind: Summons energy chains to pull enemies towards you.
- Prison of Light: Immobilizes enemies with six light rods, perfect for agile foes.
- Thunder Sear: Generates a slow-moving ball of lightning that causes electric damage and explodes upon contact, ideal for crowd control.
How to Get Shikai in Hollow Era
To acquire Shikai in Hollow Era, you must reach level 15 and visit Urihiro to undertake the Shikai Training quest. Your objective is to defeat Urahara Kisuke for a reward of 1,700 EXP, enabling you to unlock Shikai powers.
Warning: If your character isn't optimized, defeating Kisuke at level 15 can be challenging. Consider grinding until level 25 or higher before attempting this task.
Using Shikai
Upon unlocking Shikai, your weapon gains a random mighty ability. If you're not satisfied with the new power, you can re-roll it at Urahara Shop for a fee.
The game features a Rage Bar that fills with damage taken or dealt. Once full and pulsating, press Y (default keybind) to activate Shikai. It deactivates when you deplete your Reiatsu reserves or by holding Y.
Hollow Era Shikai Mastering
Your Shikai Mastery Level is determined by the Mastery Points earned through using Shikai Skills. Higher Mastery Levels reduce the Rage consumed during Shikai usage and come with different aura effects and visual enhancements:
- Mastery Level 1: 1-149 Points. Grants Transparent Aura.
- Mastery Level 2: 150-299 Points. Grants a brighter aura with particles.
- Mastery Level 3: 300-499 Points. Grants a Lightning boost.
- Mastery Level 4: 500+ Points. Grants a zone of flying stones around you.
Becoming a Visored in the Hollow Era
Choosing to play as a Soul Reaper initially locks you out of the Hollow path. However, becoming a Visored allows your Shinigami to break the barrier between Hollow and Shinigami, enabling you to switch between the two using your Hollow Mask.
To pursue the Vizard fighting style, you must reach level 50 or higher. At this level, you can access the Vizard quest at the Vizard’s Warehouse. In the Bleach canon, Vizards are Shinigami who have acquired Hollow powers.
To become a Visored, you'll need the Hogyoku, an orb that destroys the barriers between Hollow and Shinigami. Acquiring Hogyoku involves defeating the King of Hueco Mundo, a boss with a 1% drop rate. After obtaining Hogyoku, you can unlock the Vizard fighting style.
Hollow Era Visored Mastering
As a Visored, you gain several advantages. Mask Control reduces the chance of being controlled by your Hollow, while the Visored node extends mask-wearing time and boosts damage output from Hollow powers.
Visored Abilities in Hollow Era
- Hollow Mask: Allows you to control your inner Hollow and don the mask at will.
- Cero: Charges a beam of Reiatsu for substantial damage.
- Final Cero: Pins the enemy down and crushes them with a powerful Cero.
- Vasto Rage: Temporarily transforms you into the mightiest Hollow type, unleashing your full potential.
What About Hollow Era Bankai?
Currently, Bankai is not available in Hollow Era. However, given the game's popularity, it's likely that Bankai will be introduced in future updates. No specific release date has been announced, but fans are hopeful for a swift addition.
Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
If you're struggling in combat, use the lockup button to target your primary enemy, which can help mitigate the game's occasional bugs and lag. Learning how to block enemy attacks early is crucial due to the significant damage even low-level enemies can inflict.
Investing in bus teleport can save time and effort, especially given the game's large map. When allocating Skill Points, prioritize Strength and Speed initially for better damage output and agility. To reveal all markers in Karakura, press and hold J (default keybind) to use your Reiatsu sense.
While Hollows offer a fun alternative, if you dislike repetitive tasks, the Shinigami path might be more appealing due to less grind-intensive gameplay.
This concludes our Hollow Era Shinigami progression guide. Please note that the game is still in development, so expect some bugs and lag. In the meantime, take advantage of Hollow Era codes to boost your early game progress – you'll need every advantage you can get!
